Arsen Sargsyan a. k. a. Sench was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1961. After graduating high school, Sench was accepted to the Yerevan National Art Institute in 1978. In 1982 he and his classmates organized the first Armenian Youth Design Exhibition, which was a great success. Sench came up with an idea, and made large, plush toys that could be used as children’s furniture. One year later Sench won the first prize for the project in Moscow at a design competition for merchandize made for children.

In 1983 after graduating a five year program of majoring in design and arts at the Yerevan National Art Institute, Sench and his peers organized an avant-garde exhibition, which turned out to be a shock for Armenian academic artists and was a success. The exhibition was banned, but they still had a show in the basement to delight the youth of Armenia. The exhibition included surrealistic, abstract, and pop-art works.

Numerous artworks of Sench are kept in private collections in Moscow and St. Petersburg (Russia), Kiev (Ukraine), Bonn and Berlin (Germany), Poznan (Poland), Madrid (Spain), London (England), Amsterdam (Holland), Paris (France), Los Angeles, Boston, and New York (USA).
